Bowmanville, ON, le 5 septembre 2023 – Paillé Course//Racing a connu un autre bon week-end au Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, alors que Marc-Antoine Camirand a réalisé son neuvième podium de la saison, récoltant la troisième place au WeatherTech 200, en série NASCAR Pinty’s. Andrew Ranger était lui aussi en voie d’obtenir une solide performance, mais a été victime d’un bris de moteur.
Marc-Antoine Camirand apprécie particulièrement le rapide circuit routier du Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, situé à Bowmanville, en Ontario, et il l’a encore une fois démontré. Signant le tour le plus rapide en essais, il a enregistré le deuxième temps lors des qualifications.
Au départ de la course de 51 tours, il a rapidement pris les devants, mais a dû les concéder avant un premier arrêt pour ravitailler en essence. « Ma voiture devenait également très sous-vireuse. Nous avons opté pour changer deux pneus, puis deux autres quelques tours plus tard, alors que nous roulions toujours sur le vert », a indiqué Camirand, qui était au volant de la Camaro GM Paillé/Chevrolet Canada n° 96.
Après une neutralisation, il est revenu dans le top-10 et a réussi à remonter jusqu’en troisième place. « Nous n’étions pas aussi rapides que les meneurs, mais je suis très heureux de ce podium. Notre équipe a travaillé très fort tout au long de la course et nous sommes revenus en force à la fin », a indiqué Camirand, qui se retrouve deuxième au championnat, 35 points derrière la première place.
Son coéquipier chez Paillé Course//Racing, Andrew Ranger, avait lui aussi démontré beaucoup de vitesse en début de week-end.
S’élançant de la huitième place, il était en bonne posture pour terminer dans le top cinq. « Mes arrêts étaient faits, et je me retrouvais en tête de peloton. J’avais bon espoir de terminer en force cette course, car je sentais que j’avais une bonne voiture », a raconté Ranger.
Malheureusement, le moteur de la Camaro GM Paillé/Chevrolet Canada n° 27 a explosé avec 13 tours à faire. « C’est vraiment une saison à oublier pour moi. Il n’y a rien que je ne pouvais faire, j’ai été victime de ce bris de moteur alors que nous roulions bien. J’espère à tout le moins terminer la saison de belle façon, dans trois semaines, au Delaware Speedway », a conclu Ranger.
Paillé Course//Racing conclura sa saison en NASCAR Pinty’s le 24 septembre prochain, alors que Marc-Antoine Camirand et Andrew Ranger seront au Delaware Speedway, près de London, en Ontario.

Ranger Suffers Engine Failure
Bowmanville, ON, September 5, 2023 – Paillé Course//Racing had another good weekend at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, as Marc-Antoine Camirand scored his ninth podium finish of the season, earning the third place in the WeatherTech 200, in the NASCAR Pinty’s series. Andrew Ranger was also on his way to a solid performance but suffered an engine failure.
Marc-Antoine Camirand particularly appreciates the fast road course located in Bowmanville, Ontario, and he has proven it once again. Signing the fastest lap in practice, he recorded the second time in qualifying.
At the start of the 51-lap race, he quickly took the lead, but had to concede it before a first pit stop to refuel. “My car was also getting very understeering. We opted to change two tires, then two more a few laps later, while we were still driving under green flag conditions,” said Camirand, who was driving the GM Paillé/Chevrolet Canada n° 96 Camaro.
After a yellow flag, he returned to the top-10 and managed to climb back to third place. “We weren’t as fast as the leaders, but I’m very happy with this podium finish. Our team worked very hard throughout the race and we came back strong at the end,” said Camirand, who finds himself second in the championship, 35 points behind first place.
His teammate at Paillé Course//Racing, Andrew Ranger, also showed a lot of speed at the start of the weekend.
Starting from eighth place, he was in a good position to finish in the top five. “My pit stops were made, and I found myself at the head of the pack with around 20 laps to go. I was hopeful to finish this race strong because I felt I had a good car,” said Ranger.
Unfortunately, the engine in his GM Paillé/Chevrolet Canada n°27 Camaro blew out with 13 laps to go. “It is really a season to forget for me. There is nothing I could do, I suffered this engine failure while we were driving well. I hope to end the season in a good way, in three weeks, at Delaware Speedway,” concluded Ranger.
Paillé Course//Racing will wrap up its NASCAR Pinty’s season on September 24, with Marc-Antoine Camirand and Andrew Ranger on track at Delaware Speedway near London, Ontario.
